The Predental Club has had a positive impact at the SDSU Children’s Center and Kumeyaay Elementary School teaching children of various grade levels the proper technique for brushing and flossing. With the help of “Mr. Mouth,” the coordinator demonstrates how to brush and floss correctly, thus establishing the right technique at an early age and instilling good habits. We also use dyed eggs and peanut butter to visually demonstrate the importance of brushing and flossing. Another benefit to this trip is the opportunity we have in resolving any misconceptions the children may have with the long time stigma and fear of going to the dentist.
